Artist of the Week: Travis Barker

Here's the deal, as most of you know, this past weekend musician Travis Barker was in a plane crash that left him and fellow performer DJ AM (Adam Goldstein) critically injured. The two were returning home to California after preforming at a free concert in Columbia, SC. Early reports say that one of the plane's tires blew out, causing the plane to over take the runway and go through a fence then finally coming to a stop on a small hill next to a highway. Sadly four people were killed in the crash, Pilot Sarah Lemmon, co-pilot James Bland, assistant Chris Baker, and security guard Charles Still. The two artists were able to make it out of the plane, but suffered second and third degree burns. Although the burns might take up to a year to heal, both artist are said to make a full recovery. As most of you know, blink-182 is my favorite band. So when I first heard about this, I was like most fans, really worried. Travis Barker is a great musician, and losing him would be a huge loss in the music world. Besides being an amazing drummer, Travis can also play guitar and the piano. He is also a talented song writer, producer and fashion designer with his clothing line Famous Stars & Straps. With his many talents, it's no surprise that his been a part of many projects that include but are not limited to blink-182, The Transplants, Boxcar Racer, Queens of the Stone Age and +44. With so much that he's accomplished I can't wait to see what more he can do. That being said, this week's artist is Travis Barker with blink-182 video Not Now, enjoy.
