Here's the deal.... It's Comic Con Time!! Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo (or C2E2 for short) to be exact.
I was so excited to make it out to the show this year. I missed last year's show, which was the inaugural show, because I was in Mexico. But luckily this year they decided to have the con in March, which works great for me. I had a great time and got to see so much. It was a nice change from the usual Wizard World Chicago Comic Con (or C3 for short.) Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy going to C3 every year, but ever since all the comic publishers stop attending, it took something away from it. So I was very happy to see them all at at C2E2. But enough talk, lets get to the pics.
First off, we had to go over to the Justin Peterson table to pick up our copies of Very Near Mint, because my brother's girlfriend Laney was immortalized in it.
We then headed over to the the Food & Comics panel, where I got to ask Rick Bayless a question about where he got his stone molcajete with the Chicago Bulls logo on it.
Turns out he doesn't just have one. Apparently he bought 100 of them at La Jimenez on Fullerton during the Bulls 2nd 3-Peat run, which I thought was really cool. But not only did I get an awesome answer to my question, I also got a cupcake for it.
Now while I was happy at the Marvel booth because it was full of cool posters, free prizes and giant props.
My sister Nancy was much happier at the DC booth because of the padded carpeting.
Of course we got a few sketches...
and enjoyed what most people believe is the best part of Comic Con...
The Costumes.
Even got to see the famous Eric Marusak doing his chalk art thing...
But sadly I was unable to attend on Sunday, so I didn't get to see the finished product.
But lucky for me, my brother still went and was able to pick up my copy of Very Near Mint with my custom cover sketch of Laney.
All in all though it was a great weekend, and I took a lot more pics which I couldn't post all here. But feel free to head over to my flickr album if you wanna check them out. That being said, thanks for reading, and I hope to see you at the next con.
