Here's the deal, there comes a time every year when everybody comes together to dress up, share gifts and spend all our on money toys, props and comics. That's right, It's Comic Con Time! In this installment, I'm taking you through the awesome time I had at C2E2 2012.
Like always, C2E2 does not disappoint, and it was even bigger this year. But before the show even got started, I knew it was gonna be great weekend, That's because I was able to get a Pro Badge.
I know it's not that big a deal, since they probably give our thousands of them, but it made me feel privileged and entitled. So I took my newly awarded titled and made sure to take more pics than I took last year. So let's jump right to it. Of course Marvel was there in full force to promote Marvel's The Avengers which comes out in two weeks. So excited for that of course.
But we started our weekend by getting to meet two our favorite TV and Internet personalities, Chris Hardwick and Alison Haislip. You might remember Chris and Alison from their days on Attack of the Show on G4, but this weekend they where at C2E2 to promote Chris's Nerdist project and Nerdist YouTube Channel. We had a blast talking and taking photos with them.
We followed that up by heading over to the Justin Peterson table where my brother Nito, and his girlfriend Laney were finally able to pick up the books they were suppose to get the year before. Justin felt so bad, that he made Laney a special sketch, and gave them both a bunch of extra stuff.
I then asked Justin if he could do a quick sketch for me on my Copy of Very Near Mint Vol. 2, which he did... sort of lol.
Of course Eric Maruscak was there doing his chalk art thing again. It's always cool to see him work. Then we finished off Day One at the Marvel booth where they were giving away cool prizes and we all pretty much walked away with an Avengers Poster.
Day Two started off with me purchasing some new caps at the New Era booth. They were giving away one of the Captain America caps at the Marvel booth the night before, but when I didn't win it, I gave in and just bought it, along with a Thor Cap.
My sister though was much more excited that she was getting her Everlast book signed by writer, creator and her TV heartthrob, Chad Michael Murray.
I know he's in or was in some CW show, I'm just not sure which one. I told her to talk to me when he's in a Marvel Movie or something. Saturday is usually when we end up buy more stuff, which includes more prints than we know what to do with.
My sister added to her button collection..
while my brother added to his sketchbook.
Saturday is also the day where more people dress up, so if you want to see some of the best cosplay Comic Con has to show, this would be the day to go.A few seconds later I was asked the question directly to which I answered Redbank. To which I was replied "Come up on stage and claim your prize." I was ecstatic, I couldn't believe it, but there it was, right it my hands.
As soon as I got home, I popped it open to take some shots of my awesome prize. Thank you Marvel.
Day Three started off with me taking one of my friends to her first Comic Con. She has always liked comics and all things nerdy, but always thought going to a comic convention was a bit much. After a few years of convincing, I was finally able to drag her out to one. What better comic con to take her to than C2E2.
I'm happy to report that she had a great time and even picked up a few things.
As most people know, Sunday is usually a chill day when it comes to Comic Cons. It's usually when we go to pick up a few last things and get a few last sketches, which is what we did. We also got to see Eric Maruscak's finish product.
That being said, I had another great time at C2E2, and of course have way more photos than I posted here. But you are more than welcomed to take a look at all of them on my C2E2 2012 Live! Flickr Album. Sadly I won't be able to make it to C2E2 next year, because according to program, it will be taking place during days I will be in Mexico. But who knows, I might just start writing blogs about my adventures at Chicago Comic Com (Formerly Wizard World Chicago) Which I have been attending and taking photos of for years. But until then, thanks for reading, and I'll see you in the funny pages.
